or it only complicated the problem by making the students and the faculty
members reaching a close end with no solution. A less known program called write
check is in the hands of students to help them to check their work from plagiarism.
The instructor Tabarrok believes that the write check program is only sending a
wrong message to students by “telling them what not to do in spite of telling them
what to do” so the students will not try to depend on themselves to avoid the
plagiarism and they will not be able to find a new conclusions or a new ideas.
also Tabarrok said this software “it teach you to obey the letter of law, but
not the spirit of law” because this program will check the submitted written
paper for the properly paraphrasing ,quotation and citation and additionally it
check for the grammar ,style of write and the spelling .
The companies which are invented the turnitin or write check
is not trying to help to prevent the plagiarism problem in the world but they
are trying to get a profit from this serious issue. Thus the software detection
was not the solution to this problem,as Panagiotis
Ipeirotis agrees that in his essay which named ”why I will never pursue
cheating again” because when people are feeling fear from anything they will
not be able to progress or giving anything to that field . consequently the
academic field will turn form a place to
giving knowledge into a prison to the students and the faculty members .Thus people
will not be able to be creative .

According the article from what we have discussed before, I learn that many students in college are familiar the policy of plagiarism, but they still do it on purpose. Therefore, my issue is how to avoid plagiarism on campus. I found out that plagiarizing papers and essay is a common phenomenon around my classmates, so I wonder what is the mainly reason to encourage them to plagiarize. After I read an article “How to avoid retractions for plagiarism: Advice from a radiology journal editor(and arXiv)” from “http://www.scoop.it/t/plagiarism” I understand that there are many problems, which stimulate this issue. Also, from my own opinion, the reason of this problem is from many aspects, such as study pressure, less efficient punishment and student’s quality. From the resource mention, professors could try to use “turnitin” and other tools to help them check whether students plagiarize or not, because those tools could improve the efficiency of checking. In a result, student will careful to do it. According my experience, I insist that students are all afraid to get involved into this situation. I believe it will definitely help school to reduce plagiarism phenomenon.

Widely acknowledged, with the development and spread of Internet, it’s really followed by a list of problems about plagiarism. People take the advantage of Internet to finish their own essays, which reduces stresses for their work. As a research shows that “an overwhelming mahority-89 percent- say computer and the Internet have played a major role in the rise in stealing others work and claiming it as their own” (http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/college_guide/blog/plagiarism_on_the_rise.php). So large number of students has the behavior of plagiarism, which strongly illustrates Internet really have a positive effect for cheating. For example, as college students, they really have a lot of homework to be done. The pressures from courses and professors lead them to find an easy and quick way to complete their homework. Actually, Internet is a good place for them to seek help. We can find all kinds of information what we want to use, and copy some useful parts for our own papers. This is really the fastest way to complete our own work. However, we also take the risk of being accused of academic misconduct.
Why do students plagiarize? There are many reasons why this happens. One of these reasons is, when a student first comes to college, nobody guides them in what they should or should not do. They are often confused and lost with the different approaches to teaching and the level of education. They were never taught how serious plagarism is. They accidentally forget to cite references, and they waste a lot of time going out and having fun. So, when their assignment is due, they use someone else's work. In "Lives on the Boundary" by Mike Rose, Marita was in this situation and did it like this.
Another reason that students plagarize is students are concerned about getting good grades. Before I learned how serious plagarism is, intellectual property to me did not seem as important as obtaining higher grades. College students want to get certificates and degrees that help them get a job. From students' attitudes indicated in Susan D. Blums' article, I conclude that the trend in higher education is to attach strong value to credentials. So, there may be pressure to even plagarize for a good grade after knowing how bad it is.

Plagiarism has been an issue highlighted throughout the education. There have been issues highlighted about how plagiarism will cause getting a fail in the subject or get into trouble from the teacher. In my opinion, plagiarizing is a choice chosen by people and the person who is plagiarizing is the only one to be blamed for and be in charge of changing themselves to either be good or keep staying to same dishonest person. Teaching morality would not help to prevent plagiarism as the article “Plagiarism Is Not a Big Moral Deal” by Stanley Fish states that “Whenever it comes up plagiarism is a hot button topic and essays about it tend to be philosophically and morally inflated. But there are really only two points to make. (1) Plagiarism is a learned sin. (2) Plagiarism is not a philosophical issue.” It basically says that if professor explains to students that plagiarism is not right students will still plagiaries. I agree with this article that it is true and through my experiences of seeing students plagiarizing it is hard to change their thoughts. People know that cheating is not right from a young age and stealing from other people is not acceptable. Parents, teachers or older people teach their children and students that they should be honest about their works but even though children can be taught not to do something, if they believe that they are not wrong and want to cheat and steal other people’s work that is their fault and problem.

At the beginning of it I like to greet Dr. on this program and the context in wonderful. Questions is very impressive. I learned as a student of the questions and how to deal with subjects writing and extreme caution so as not to reality in the trap of plagiarism. When I was a student at the university in Iraq, I used parts of the writings of the net in my post I did not know that's thing wrong,But from now I will not do things like this because it does not help me to learn and to express my thoughts

Plagiarism tutorial
In question 8 the student was trying to post some information to his class online and while he doing that he found attractive article on the internet so he cut and pastes it while he was posting. This case is consider to me plagiarism because he only cut it and paste it and he didn’t try to paraphrase it or cite his work and the feedback answer said that teacher will not accept cutting and pasting without citation so to be in safer the student should give the references of his article.
In this tutorial, I learned a lot of thing and the question which I like it is number 4 because in this question I learned that sharing idea and taking some ideas from the people surround you is not plagiarism unless this idea is not written. As Aurora mentioned in her letter to Ed Dante in the “intellectual property divide” that when two people having the same idea or the same conclusion but the academic world will accept the idea of the person who will wrote it first .so the plagiarism sometimes considered so complex idioms because in some cases the judgment will not be fair or not clear.
My question is who first mention the plagiarism as an important issue and when that happened.

From this tutorial I learned that when I need to cite some information about my issue, I must find the information from the original article. Thus I can make sure this information is accurately and where it comes from.
Question 8 discusses that if student need to post something online, the student cut and paste article from internet. Is this considered plagiarism? I think if the student didn’t clearly shows that the article is cite from internet, this action may be accused of plagiarism. Show the reference is the protection of others’ intangible things. From this tutorial I learned that if I want to cite something from internet, I need to show where I cite. Otherwise I may be considered plagiarism. In the United States, when people download something need to pay the money with these things. People should be to understand and observe the law of intellectual property and to protect own and others’ intangible things.
