A professor wants the boy to show all the sources that he used and adding some citation to the paper but the boy was complaining about that because he think that it’s waste of his time and the professor just want to know if he read everything and it’s difficult to paraphrase every word in the paper but the woman was explaining to him that he can paraphrase the main idea and showing that he is intelligent student and aware about the paper so the reader will trust him, and citation is important because he can’t predict what the reader expecting from the author so he should use citation to strengthen his paper and showing that he read everything .
I think the woman is right about everything but if I was in the same situation at first time I will think that the professor want citation from me to know if I read the paper or not. when I was in the high school we were having a subject on writing in Arabic on certain topic which the teacher give it to us as homework so I was explaining my own idea and using citation to enrich my work and using different opinion of people which am agree with them and the others which am disagree with them and I was using citation of the both opinion.
