summary the video- plagiarism? Are you kidding?

The video, “plagiarism? Are you kidding? ”, by Joel Bloch illustrates the importance of citation in academic writing. The boy complains that cite the resource is too annoying for him, which means he doesn’t want to cite. The woman argues that cite resource can prove the reader he read all the material and the rule of citation is easy to follow. In fact, he needn’t cite all the sentences. He is supposed to cite the important resource which proves his ideas. Moreover, he considers paraphrasing to be a tough work he can’t do it well. The woman suggests that he can summary the main ideas of other authors. The more people agree with our point, the stronger our point will be proved. In another aspect, citation shows the work and intellection of writer. However, the boy worries about his professor may think it isn’t his own ideas. The woman suggests that he uses resources help him compose his own idea.
In my point of view, citation is not a tough work. However, it help us strength our ideas and well support. Citation can show that the article isn’t based on our own thoughts, but many other authors’ ideas are same with us. As a result, our ideas are stronger and stronger. During reading the resources, we can receive more information and inspire our own ideas. Usually, composing main idea is the most difficult part of writing. In addition, citing resources distinguish our own work with others’ ideas, which make us avoiding plagiarism. Although citation requires us more time to do it, it worth because it can make our article reach a higher level.
