The Summary of “Plagiarism? Are you Kidding”

The video, “Plagiarism? Are you Kidding”, by Toel Bloch discusses the necessary of citation. The boy complains that citing sources is just a waste of his time. Then the woman explains that citing other’s sources will strengthen his argument, and it just like football rules that every player must obey them. Then the man states that his professor only needs him to rewrite all contents, and changing words and grammars are difficult for him. The woman admits that sometimes just main ideas in an article are useful for him. By the way, views in his paper will looks like more trustable for readers. Then, the woman explains that citation is not always useful, but it’s important for him to give reader more useful information. At last, the woman emphasizes that he must avoid plagiarism when he cites other’s article.

In my opinion, citation is important when I start writing a paper, because by researching other’s information, I could understand the meaning of topics better. For example, I wrote a paper which needs me to watch a film named The Legend of 1900. At first, I hardly understand what the author wants to tell me. Then I checked the film reviews in the library, and read them carefully. Then, I watch the film secondly. This time, I know the clue and the deeper meaningful in the film. In this condition, I form my own unique and creative notions easily, which leads me to organize my essay better. I believe that it is the most important reason for me to citing other sources in my paper. Meanwhile, citation could enrich more valuable comments for my essay.
