Summary of “plagiarism? Are you kidding me? ”

Summary of “plagiarism? Are you kidding me? ”
In the video “plagiarism? Are you kidding?”, Dr. Joel Blah states a common problem---plagiarism in our campus. The boy argues that citing each word from reading is unnecessary because it just shows he reads everything. But the girl disagrees that it shows the boy share ideas with other people, which can enhance reliable of argument. Also, the boy insists that citing resources wastes too much time. The girl points out that this is a rule, which helps him to handle well in his homework. However, the boy believes that it is tough to make sentences by changing words and grammars. The girl explains that he could just demonstrate main idea from article in his paper. In addition, the boy is confusing about the difference between citing words and plagiarism. So the girl illustrates that citing words has many advantages. She regards the benefits of citing words as strengthening own argument, providing more information, and showing the idea which belongs other.

As far as I am concerned, I agree with the girl’s opinion. It is wrong to use other people’s idea without citing. In China, we do not emphasize copyright, so I always incorrectly use other scientist ideas into my academic paper without citing. It messes up my points and scientist’s idea, which let my paper be perfect. But I realize that this method is wrong because I use other people’s idea but do not cite it. Therefore, I think the most significant reason of citing resource is helping us to distinguish our own ideas with other people’s ideas. We can walk into a good way to writhe a paper.
