Huang wangqian

My name is Wangqian Huang. I am a single son of my family. I come from Nanning, which is the capital of Guangxi province of China. Most people do not know a lot about Nanning, but many people must hear about Guilin, which is the most beautiful city of Guangxi provience.There are a nice scene and many delicious foods. We prefer to eat rich noddle as breakfast. I am a transfer student from Macau University. I studied Computer Science and Engineering in my previous school, But after two years study, I find out that I am not interested in this field, so I switch my major to Finance now. I really like to watch NBA games and to play basketball in my leisure time. That is one of the reasons why I transfer to America---having a chance to watch a live NBA game. Another reason for my transfer is that Chinese universities do not allow students change their major optionally, only if students rank top 3 in their major and write a long paper. Also, American universities could provide me a better education than me former school. So, I decided to transfer to America. After one year's preparation, I get an offer from OSU.  Unfortunately, I just transfer few credits from my previous. It seriously affects my progress of graduation. So My plan is that I will continute my study in summer quarter, and select more courses to earn more credits to graduate early.

In December 28, I took the road to America, which was my first time to go abroad. I was quite excited and a little bit nervous. Before I left, I applied a host family in website, which provide pick-up service and a temporary living place. When I arrived at Columbus airport, Bruce was there waiting for me. He took me to his home, and gave me a wonderful bedroom. I spent nice 4 days at his home. In  these 4 days, he taught me how to cook and showed me how American people's life is. That is completely different with Chinese life.  Especially for the cooking, he followed the recipe to pour precisely oil and sauce into bowl. Also, he really like to use oven, which is totally difference in China. In China, our cooking all just follow by our inspiration. We do not cook step by step. Furthermore, in Eve New Year, I invited him and his wife to eat a New Year meal at a traditional Chinese restaurant. They are interested in Chinese culture and like Chinese food. We were really happy at that night.
